Marketing your self published book

For those of you who don't know me. I am a stay at home mom with two beautiful toddlers. My husband works long hours. This means I am alone all day with my toddlers. It's a job I love. Getting to raise my children each day is a gift. My other dream is to be an author. I have written my first book and self published. It's an exciting time. Here comes the hard part, Marketing while trying to write my second book.

Finding the time to write is hard enough but adding marketing to the list mean I have to chose. In the one hour I have to work on my own stuff I have to decide which to work on. If it were my choice I would always choose writing. Marketing is no fun but it is necessary. There is no point in spending my time writing novels if I can't get it out there. The thing no one tells you is how hard it is to get your work out there. I have an instagram, facebook, goodreads, twitter, and my own website. Keeping on top of all these things take time. It is a vital step in the process. For someone who never posted much on social media, I am playing in a whole new field now.

All this while my energy filled son runs around the house like a Tasmanian devil and I pray that the thunderous sounds of his feet stomping doesn't wake my light sleeping princess upstairs, who wakes like bear.
